Let’s Have Ducks

We have plenty of good causes, so let’s have a rubber ducky race here. The Montclair Park’s pond will do, even if a few of these little guys get stuck in the tall grass.

Look at this “Ducks for Bucks” fund raiser nearby. The Kiwanis Club has been running this contest since 1995, apparently with great success.  There were 7,400 ducks in the race this year.  Anyone?

Homes Are Older

Until tonight, I had no idea our homes were all so old. I drive around and see so many new homes. Maybe they are just on Skyline and Shepherd. Look at these stats:

Mayoral Election Begins

Stop by the Farmers Market on Sunday, and cast your $1 vote for this year’s Village officials. The primary takes place through May 17th, and the mayor’s race takes place through June 15th.

As you probably know, our government has gone to the dogs. Over the past year, our Mayor has been Bella and she’s been ably supported by Gracie.

When you vote, you are contributing to the Pet & Wildlife Fund, which meets the emergency needs of local wildlife who get injured.

Vote Now For Top Dog!

Frankly (!) I think the Berkeley crowd is far too proud of Top Dog. I’m ready for a duel between Top Dog vs. Village Dog.

Vote now for the best weiners:  sorry, election is over

Oakland should be proud of Village Dog, which declared its independence from Top Dog years ago. Please join me in this all-important election. Thanks!

Come One, Come All

What’s happening in Montclair? What do Montclarions think about it?

Today in Montclair has officially arrived here! Feel free to visit every few days, and we’ll let you know what we think about the local news, shindigs — and everything else in our faire village.

We were blogging at 94611.net before, and the corporate owner has discontinued blogs. However, you will see the same active commentary and reactions here. Plus it’s even easier to share, so don’t hold back.

I look forward to our virtual coffee klatsch.
